On October 17, 2015 Magic/Illusions/Comedy returned to Denton, Texas. The Kiwanis Club of Robson Ranch and the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Texas brought Garry Carson, an award winning Las Vegas Master of Illusion performer, back to present his show of Illusions, Magic and Comedy to benefit the local kids in need.

With a new venue, Margo Jones Performance Hall at Texas Woman’s University, Garry and his assistant, Janine, dazzled the audience with his many illusions. The kids in the audience were particularly awe struck with his performance, especially those brought on stage to help make his magic come to life before their very eyes. The audience may have been smaller than expected; however, the enthusiasm was not. Standing ovations during and at the end of each show made the event a memorable evening for all in attendance.

As with all fundraisers, the event would not have been a success without the many sponsors of the show. The presenting sponsor for the show was Marty Hoover, known by his business Weed Man, “We care for your Lawn.” Other business sponsors were: Spectra Asset Conservation, LTD, Village Chiropractic Center, State Farm, Matt Portz, Dr. Kerby Trusty of Total Eyecare, Lorentz Automotive, Dr. Ted Dunson of Southbridge Dental, Ousley Vision Center, Adams Furniture, Brunswick Zone, Dr. Dan McBride of Urology Associates of Denton, Smokehouse, University Lanes and Dr. Lanning of Argyle Dental Connection. Also thanks to those who donated tickets so those kids less fortunate could attend the show.

Thank you to the leadership team from the Kiwanis Club and the Boys and Girls Club who made this event a reality: Co-chairperson, Barbara Leurig; sponsorships, David Everly; ticket sales, Mike Weaver; marketing/PR, Rick Troutman; venue, Bill Wright; accounting, Marv Daniel and Jim Ryerson.
