On May 11, Happy Tails Dog Club welcomed fellow Robson Resident Deborah Diehl as our guest Speaker. Deborah attended the 150th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York earlier this year. Her presentation offered an entertaining and insightful behind-the-scenes look at one of the nation’s most prestigious canine events.

The next meeting is on Saturday, June 13, with an inspiring presentation by Jenny Dirks, Shelter to Service Program Manager for Dogs for Better Lives. Their mission is to professionally train dogs to help people and enhance lives. Members will gain insight into the life-changing impact service dogs have and learn more about the incredible work happening behind the scenes.

On Saturday, July 11, members can prepare for a grooming-focused presentation by Jan St Clair from Dog Gone Texas Dog Salon. Whether owners are grooming veterans or still trying to decode the mystery of the perfect trim, Jan will share tips and insider advice about caring for dogs’ coats and keeping pups looking and feeling their best.

August brings back one of the club’s most anticipated and entertaining events. On Saturday, August 8, members will gather for the return of the Bark and Brag Event, making its first appearance since 2024. This member-favorite gathering invites proud pet parents to share stories, photos, accomplishments, and memorable moments featuring their beloved dogs. Whether a pup is talented, funny, lovable, or simply irresistible, this event celebrates the special bond between dogs and the people who adore them.

The club will continue into the fall with Brandon Cox doing a presentation on “What our dogs are trying to tell us” on September 12. The next month, on October 10, Vic Norton, Dean at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church will be here for a Blessing of our Pets which is celebrated in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

As the holiday season approaches, excitement continues Saturday, November 7, featuring the return of the annual Winter Holiday Mini Photo Sessions. This seasonal tradition is the major fundraiser for the club and provides the opportunity for those who sign up to capture festive photos perfect for holiday cards and gifts.

The year wraps up in joyful fashion on Saturday, December 5, with the annual Happy Tails Dog Club Holiday Pawty. One of the club’s most cherished events, the celebration brings members together to enjoy friendship, laughter, and holiday spirit while honoring the special dogs that bring so much happiness into their lives.

With a schedule filled with education, entertainment, and community spirit, Happy Tails Dog Club continues proving that life is simply better with dogs—and a community of fellow dog lovers to share the journey with.

The Happy Tails Dog Club meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in Room 103 of the CATC building. Membership is open to all dog lovers, with annual dues of $10 per household. More information is available at www.rrhappytailsdogclub.weebly.com.
