Dianne Edmondson
We all have so much to be thankful for this holiday season, not only in Denton County but across our country. Each of us is blessed with family, friends, our health, and our homes.
At Denton County, we are so very thankful for your overwhelming support of our $650 million Transportation Road Improvement Program (TRIP 22), which passed with almost 75 percent in favor. And I personally am very grateful for your support by electing me to another four-year term as Commissioner Pct. 4.
As we begin to plan the rollout of future road projects, we want you to know that we are keeping a close eye out on the traffic and road needs, as well as working to ensure very limited impact on our taxpayers.
On a more festive note, with Christmas holiday festivities beginning, we have many wonderful celebrations from which to choose to ring in the season right here at the Ranch.
Saturday, Dec. 17: Pilot Knob Rotary Club, in coordination with Carter Blood Care, will be hosting a blood drive in the parking lot at the RR clubhouse from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This drive will be supporting Blood Emergency Readiness and is so important during the holidays.
Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 18., at 4 p.m.: Christmas at the Ranch Concert. Tickets are $15 in advance or $17 at the door. It’s always a blessing to join in the Christmas carols with our neighbors and talented singers.
Monday, Dec. 19, evening: Christmas Caroling at various homes on the Ranch. Women Sharing Hope will go to requested homes to sing Christmas carols for those who cannot get out or who have lost loved ones. To request carolers to visit your home, call Linda Smith at 940-393-1045.
Friday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m.: Spiderman will be paying a visit to kids of all ages at the Veterans Park. Photos will be taken with Spiderman. This is a free event sponsored by the Robson Kiwanis Club. Bring your grandchildren for a fun afternoon at the Ranch.
Saturday, Dec. 31, at 7 p.m.: New Year’s Eve Dinner and Dance hosted by the RR Music Club. Tickets are $75 in advance.
With so many holiday events from which to choose, there should be nary a Scrooge to be found at the Ranch in December!
