Our law enforcement officers work day and night, rain or shine, and in the extreme heat of our Texas summers. To acknowledge their hard work and make the heat more bearable, we, a group of 12 Robson Ranch residents, purchased cases of water and Gatorade (in fact five car loads full), along with a huge basket of individually packaged snacks and delivered them in person to the Denton Police Department.
When our car caravan arrived, we were met by several cadets currently enrolled in the officer training program, who quickly emptied our cars and invited us into the facility so we could present our gift and visit with them.
Accompanying the refreshments was the letter below, which was read by Peggy Crandell, to express our genuine appreciation for everything the officers do to help keep our Denton community safe while putting their lives on the line every day.
“Dear Denton City Law Enforcement Officers,
We would like to express our gratitude for your dedication and the tireless work you all exhibit to serve and protect our community. The Denton City Police Force has our complete support.
In addition to words, we offer this “material donation” as a further sign of our appreciation. We hope this “token” makes your daily lives easier in some small way.
Thank you all for the sacrifices each of you make every day so our lives are better.
Please keep your spirits high and stay safe!”
