The Women’s Club continues to provide a fun and sharing setting with an enriching social context, set in our wonderful Robson Ranch community! The Women’s Club also continues to work for community betterment, which benefits Robson Ranch as well as Denton County as a whole, through fundraising efforts for the club’s designated charities.

Please join us as we share friendship while meeting new acquaintances at the monthly luncheons while being entertained with the various programs. Perhaps consider volunteering with one of the Community Outreach projects or sign up to go on the special day outings or other wonderful events on the 2024 calendar. There are many opportunities to meet new people!

As a recap, the December luncheon was full of holiday cheer, fond farewells, and welcoming the 2024 executive board.

Nancy Garre-Caldwell, 2023 president, opened the meeting with a poem and interesting facts about the month of December.

Lisa Olson, 2024 president-elect, introduced new members, first-time attendees, and guests. Included were Nancy’s three daughters and three granddaughters who were present to support Nancy as she left the board as president.

Shirley Monge, Sunshine, celebrated December birthdays. The Birthday Drawing winner was Marilyn Handleman.

Nancy announced that the Women’s Club currently has 518 members. Nancy then proceeded to thank everyone who volunteered throughout the year. She announced that the Donated Christmas Decorations Drive was a huge success!

Pam Franks, Home Tour coordinator, reminded everyone that the Homes for the Holidays Home Tour would be on Sunday, Dec. 10. She reiterated the sale of Home Tour tickets benefited Our Daily Bread, and the monies raised from the Wine Pulls benefited the Denton Community Food Center.

Nancy Garre-Caldwell asked the 2023 board of directors to come on stage. She presented each board member with a red rose and kind words regarding their efforts throughout the year.

Nancy Garre-Caldwell then introduced the 2024 executive board and presented a white rose to each of them. All of the 2024 executive board members were sworn in. Nancy then passed the gavel to Lisa Olson, 2024 president.

Gayle Lee introduced the December program, which included cast members from Theater Denton. They performed “White Christmas” and other Christmas favorites, as well as numbers from their White Christmas production.

The February program will celebrate Valentine’s Day with educator and presenter Debbie Deverich. She will enrich our afternoon with illuminating insights on “The 5 Love Languages” and how the impact of Intentional Relationship Practices have impacted educators throughout the DFW region. This promises to be a very enlightening presentation.
